- San Francisco International Airport (SFO) : 10 miles South
- Driving : 10-15 minutes
Leave the airport heading North (towards San Francisco) on US Highway 101 and proceed as below for driving from the South Bay. Cab fare is approximately 30 US Dollars.
- BART : 25-30 minutes
Take the airport shuttle train to the SFO BART station. Get on a train heading North (towards San Francisco, Mission & 24th Street) and proceed as below for BART directions. BART fare from the airport is 5 US Dollars.
- Caltrain
Don't take the Caltrain from the airport! It's slow, expensive, and trains run infrequently. If you are at the SFO Caltrain station in Milbrae, change to the BART train and take it into the city. If you must be on Caltrain, proceed as below for Caltrain directions.
- Oakland International Airport (OAK) : 22 miles East
- Driving : 30-60 minutes
Leave the airport heading East on Hegenberger Road. You will hit Interstate 880. Take this North towards Oakland. Look for the Interstate 80 exit to San Francisco via the Bay Bridge. Proceed as below for driving from the East Bay. Cab fare is approximately 70 US Dollars.
- BART : 40-50 minutes
Take the AIR BART shuttle bus (approx. 10 minutes, 2 US Dollars fare) to the Oakland Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART station. Get on a train heading West (towards San Francisco, Mission & 24th Street) and proceed as below for BART directions. BART fare from the airport is 3.50 US Dollars plus 2 US Dollars for the AIR BART shuttle bus
- San Jose International Airport (SJC) : 44 miles South
- Driving : 45-70 minutes
Leave the airport turning left on Guadalupe Parkway (California Highway 87) towards US Highway 101. Head north on US Highway 101 towards San Francisco and proceed as below for driving from the South Bay. Cab fare is approximately 100 US Dollars.
- Caltrain : 90-150 minutes
Take the VTA Airport Flyer to the Santa Clara Caltrain Station. This shuttle bus is Free. Buy a ticket and board a train going North towards San Francisco. Proceed as below for Caltrain directions. Caltrain fare from the airport is 6.75 US dollars.

| Driving |
- Inside San Francisco
UPXIII is located in Bernal Heights, south of the Mission District. Find your way to Mission Street. Mission Street's cross streets are numbered: from 1st Street to 16th Street to 24th Street and so on. Drive South until you hit Mission & 30th Streets. The next block South is Cortland Avenue. Turn left on Cortland (you can only turn left) and go up the hill. There will be several left turns on your way up the hill, but the first right turn is Elsie Street. Turn right on Elsie. We are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street. Cab fare from inside San Francisco is usually no more than 20 US Dollars.
- From South Bay
- US Highway 101 North
Head North on US Highway 101 until you are in San Francisco. Just past Candlestick park, there will be an exit for Interstate 280. Stay on 101 North. The next exit will be Silver Avenue. Take this exit. Turn left onto Bayshore Blvd, which runs parallel to 101 North. Go through the next few stoplights until you hit Industrial Street. The next stoplight on Bayshore is Cortland Avenue. Turn left on Cortland (you can only turn left) and go up the hill. Admire Cortland Avenue- Bernal Heights' main drag of cute little shops. After the main drag, you will see Elsie Street- (if you hit Mission Street, you've gone too far, turn around). Turn left on Elsie. We are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street. Cab fare from San Jose is approximately 100 US Dollars.
- Interstate 280 North
Head North on Interstate 280 until you are in San Francisco. Just past Ocean Avenue, there will be an exit called San Jose Avenue. Take this exit- it will go beneath the highway and through a sort of chute into the city. The first stoplight will be Randall Street. Take a right here, then an immediate left onto Mission Street. You will be heading North on Mission Street at this point- the first stoplight will be Cortland Avenue. Turn right here (you can only turn right) and go all the way up the hill. There will be several streets to the left, but the first turn on the right willl be Elsie Street. Turn right on Elsie- we are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street. Cab fare from San Jose via 280 is approximately 120 US Dollars.
- From East Bay (Interstate 80 West)
Head West on Interstate 80 until you are at the Bay Bridge. Cross into San Francisco. Interstate 80 will turn into US Highway 101 South (towards San Jose). Stay on 101 South until you see the Cesar Chavez exit. Take this exit. The exit ramp splits into four exit ramps- you want the second exit ramp from the left, the one marked Bayshore Blvd. Stay on Bayshore- the first stoplight will be Oakdale Avenue, and the second stoplight will be Cortland Avenue. Turn right onto Cortland (you can only turn right) and go all the way up the hill. Enjoy the main drag of Bernal Heights- after the shops, you will see Elsie Street. Turn left onto Elsie- we are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street. Cab fare from Berkeley or Oakland is approximately 50 US Dollars.
- From North Bay (US Highway 101 South)
Head South on US Highway 101/California Highway 1 until you are at the Golden Gate Bridge. Cross into San Francisco. US Highway 101 splits from CA Highway 1- stay on 101. 101 Will turn into Lombard Street. Take Lombard Street to Van Ness Avenue. Turn right onto Van Ness. Take Van Ness past City Hall, past Market Street, and past the Bay Bridge On Ramp @ 13th Street. At this point, the streets are consecutively numbered. Continue down South Van Ness Avenue until you hit 24th Street. Turn right. The next stoplight is Mission Street. Turn left onto Mission and keep driving until you see Mission & 30th Streets. The next street will be Cortland Avenue- turn left onto Cortland (you can only turn left). Go up the hill- there will be several left turns- the first right turn at the top of the hill is Elsie Street. Turn right onto Elsie. We are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street.

Buy a ticket and board a caltrain going North towards San Francisco (4th and King, the end of the line). Disembark and buy a MUNI ticket. From the Caltrain Station, walk across the street (towards the ballpark) to the N Judah MUNI train. Take the N Judah train to Civic Center station. Get off the N Judah train and board an outbound J Church train. Get off at 30th & Dolores Streets and proceed as below for MUNI directions (J Church).

Buy a ticket and board a BART train heading for San Francisco. The stop you will get off at is 24th & Mission Street. Go above ground- you will be at the intersection of 24th & Mission Streets. From here you can either walk down Mission Street from here, or take a MUNI bus down Mission Street. Any MUNI bus going South down Mission Street towards Daly City will get you here (14, 49, 67). The bus stop is directly across from the McDonalds on the corner. Take a bus past 30th & Mission Streets to Cortland Avenue- get off here and walk up Cortland Avenue (or take the 24 Bus if it's there). The first right will be Elsie Street, so take that right and we are the second house on the right- 306 Elsie Street. |

- J Church Streetcar to 30th & Dolores - 3 minute walk
Board a J Church Streetcar going outbound towards Balboa Park. The J goes down Church Street- from 14th Street to 30th Street. Once it turns down 30th Street, the next stop will be Dolores & 30th. Get off here and walk down 30th Street until it deadends into Mission Street. Here, you can wait for the 24 Divisadero bus to take you up Cortland, or turn right, walk South on Mission Street one block to Cortland Avenue. Turn left onto Cortland Avenue and walk up our hill- the first right will be Elsie Street. We are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street.
- 14 Mission Bus or 49 Van Ness+Mission Bus to Cortland and Mission - 2 minute walk
Board either of these buses going South towards Daly City or City College. Mission Street's cross streets are numbered from 1st Street to 16th Street to 24th Street and so on. Stay on the bus, going south, until you hit Mission & 30th Streets. The next stop (one block South) is Cortland Avenue. Get off the bus here. You can either wait for the 24 Divisadero bus to take you up Cortland avenue, or walk up our hill, Cortland. The first right turn will be Elsie Street- turn here, we are the second house on the right- 306 Elsie Street.
- 24 Divisadero Bus to Elsie and Cortland - 10 second walk
Board a 24 Divisadero bus heading towards 3rd and Palou/Bayview. This bus travels from the Haight, down Divisadero which turns into Castro Street- then it turns onto Noe Street, then eventually down 30th Street towards Mission Street. Once the bus turns off Mission Street up Cortland Avenue, we are the second stop- Elsie and Cortland. From the bus stop, walk uphill (South) on Elsie Street towards 306 Elsie Street- we are the second house on the right.
- 26 Valencia Bus to 30th and Mission - 3 minute walk
Board a 26 Valencia Bus going southbound towards Balboa Park Station. This bus travels down Valencia Street until it meets Mission Street. A few stops after this will be 30th and Mission Streets. Get off here! Keep walking down Mission Street- the next block is Cortland Avenue. You can either wait for the 24 Divisadero bus to take you up this hill, or walk up our hill! The first right is Elsie- turn right, we are the second house on the right- 306 Elsie Street.

If you can get to Mission Street, just walk South towards us. Mission's cross streets are numbered, from 1st, to 16th, to 24th and so on. Walk or bike south down Mission Street until you hit 30th Street (past Cesar Chavez). The next block will be Cortland Avenue- turn left here (you can only turn left). It's a big hill, but the first right turn will be Elsie Street- turn here, we are the second house on the right, 306 Elsie Street.
Valencia Street is a bike lane! And it's flat! It's parallel to Mission Street, so if you're on a bike, take that street instead!
